An iconic star from the White Lotus <\/a>has emerged in the race to play James Bond<\/a>, after winning praise for his stand-out performance.<\/p>\n

Patrick Schwarzenegger raised eyebrows<\/a> when he was first cast in season three of the HBO<\/a> drama, but turned heads with his incredible portrayal of vapid finance bro Saxon Ratliff.<\/p>\n

Following the finale on Sunday<\/a>, social media<\/a> has been flooded with compliments for the TV favourite, with many branding him \u2018gut-wrenching\u2019, \u2018incredible\u2019 and \u2018the best actor on the show\u2019.<\/p>\n

As viewers beg for the 31-year-old \u2013 son of Hollywood legend Arnold Schwarzenegger<\/a> \u2013 to get all of the award nominations, he has been linked to a very surprising stint as 007.<\/p>\n

According to bookmakers Coral, his odds have been slashed to 5-1, from 12-1, for the coveted part since the finale aired.<\/p>\n

\u2018Patrick Schwarzenegger was one of the stars of the latest White Lotus series, and on the back of the show, he has jumped into the James Bond mix<\/a>,\u2019 Coral\u2019s John Hill said.<\/p>\n

\u2018The son of the legendary Arnold Schwarzenegger has had his odds slashed to 5\/1 from 12\/1.\u2019<\/p>\n

Could you imagine Arnie getting a cameo?<\/p>\n

We have all been\u00a0not-so-patiently waiting for any 007 updates\u00a0after\u00a0Daniel Craig\u00a0departed the role<\/a> in 2021, following the release of\u00a0No Time To Die<\/a>.<\/p>\n

Patrick could face some stiff competition from a fellow White Lotus alum as Theo James<\/a>\u2019 odds to step into Daniel\u2019s shoes are currently 2\/1.<\/p>\n

Adolescence<\/a> icon Stephen Graham<\/a> recently found himself tipped for a shot at the super spy, with odds currently at 33\/1.<\/p>\n

While we\u2019re still waiting for a glimpse at the next Bond, Daniel Mays recently shed some light on the future of the franchise,\u00a0suggesting we could get a 007 origin story.<\/p>\n

During an appearance on the We\u2019re Not Getting Any Younger podcast, he said that he\u2019d heard a rumor that \u2018they\u2019re going to\u00a0cast someone very young and go back to the origins\u2019.<\/p>\n

Longtime producers\u00a0Barbara Broccoli and Michael G Wilson previously announced their plans to step back, with Amazon MGM taking over creative control <\/a>and Amy Pascal and David Heyman jumping on board <\/a>to produce the next flick.<\/p>\n

Popping up at CinemaCon in\u00a0Las Vegas earlier this month, executives said production is finally underway in London<\/a>.<\/p>\n
