trailer for the I Know What You Did Last Summer reboot dropped, including a very subtle tribute.<\/p>\n<p>Last year, it was confirmed that the iconic film, which was released in 1997, is the latest classic to <a href=\"https:\/\/metro.co.uk\/2024\/09\/23\/star-iconic-90s-horror-film-returns-sequel-nearly-30-years-21658757\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">get the revival treatment nearly 30 years later<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>Jennifer Love Hewitt and Freddie Prinze Jr, who <a href=\"https:\/\/metro.co.uk\/2024\/09\/29\/star-studded-cast-iconic-90s-horror-movie-ageless-27-years-later-21679499\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">starred as Julie James and Ray Bronson in the original<\/a> alongside Sarah Michelle Gellar and Ryan Phillippe, later announced they would be reprising their roles for the new slasher.<\/p>\n<p>They have joined Madelyn Cline, Chase Sui Wonders, Jonah Hauer-King, Tyriq Withers, Sarah Pidgeon, Billy Campbell and Gabbriette Bechtel for the new outing, <a href=\"https:\/\/metro.co.uk\/2025\/04\/08\/horror-director-promises-much-brutal-sequel-iconic-90s-slasher-22874364\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">which will be released in cinemas on July 18<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>A new teaser released this week shows a new group of Southport locals being terrorized by the murderer \u2013 and a blink-and-you\u2019ll-miss-it memorial to Helen Shivers (Sarah) \u2013 who was killed in the original. <\/p>\n<p>It seems as though her death is weighing on everyone\u2019s minds, as Ray is seen urging the police to take the new slaughters It is a really fun, popcorn summer event,\u2019 she added, promising that the horror aspect is \u2018ratcheted up to a hundred in this \u2014 it\u2019s much more brutal.<\/p>\n<p>\u2018There\u2019s definitely more methodology to every kill in this movie, unlike the first, which is kind of just him stalking them and going after them.<\/p>\n<p>\u2018There\u2019s not a lot of gore or blood or violence in the first one.
