(Ubisoft)<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p><a data-track=\"inline-tag-auto-link_article\" href=\"https:\/\/metro.co.uk\/tag\/ubisoft\/\">Ubisoft<\/a> may be bringing another current gen-only title to the Nintendo <a data-track=\"inline-tag-auto-link_article\" href=\"https:\/\/metro.co.uk\/tag\/nintendo-switch-2\/\">Switch 2<\/a>, with a possible leak that <a href=\"https:\/\/metro.co.uk\/2025\/03\/18\/assassins-creed-shadows-review-ubisoft-takes-a-trip-japan-22749156\/\">Assassin\u2019s Creed Shadows<\/a> is on its way.<\/p>\n<p>The <a href=\"https:\/\/metro.co.uk\/2025\/01\/16\/nintendo-switch-2-officially-announced-new-mario-kart-secrets-revealed-22375012\/\">Nintendo Switch 2 Direct<\/a> might have been an hour long but, given that length of time, it didn\u2019t actually reveal all that many games.<\/p>\n<p>There were only two new big budget first party titles (<a data-track=\"inline-tag-auto-link_article\" href=\"https:\/\/metro.co.uk\/tag\/mario-kart\/\">Mario Kart<\/a> World and Donkey Kong Bananza \u2013 Metroid Prime 4 was barely featured, as it\u2019d been in the <a href=\"https:\/\/metro.co.uk\/2025\/03\/27\/new-metroid-prime-4-trailer-best-switch-graphics-ever-22805756\/\">Switch 1 Direct a week earlier<\/a>) and while there were lots of third party games some prominent publishers had little or nothing to show.<\/p>\n<p>Ubisoft announced <a data-track=\"inline-tag-auto-link_article\" href=\"https:\/\/metro.co.uk\/tag\/star-wars\/\">Star Wars<\/a> Outlaws but didn\u2019t unveil it properly <a href=\"https:\/\/metro.co.uk\/2025\/04\/18\/star-wars-outlaws-trailer-shows-ps5-games-look-like-switch-2-22931303\/\">until last week<\/a> and now it seems that they\u2019re holding back on another current gen port, of Assassin\u2019s Creed Shadows.<\/p>\n<p>The logic behind what companies do or don\u2019t show is hard to guess, but as one of Nintendo\u2019s most loyal Western collaborators, it was a little odd that Ubisoft didn\u2019t have more on display.<\/p>\n<p>Whatever they might be waiting for isn\u2019t clear but a listing on the <a href=\"https:\/\/pegi.info\">PEGI aging rating website<\/a> suggests that Assassin\u2019s Creed Shadows is coming to Switch 2.<\/p>\n<p>There\u2019s nothing on the game\u2019s dedicated page but at time of writing the home page\u2018s \u2018most searched games\u2019 section lists Shadows for Xbox Series X\/S, PlayStation 5, PC, and\u2026. Nintendo Switch 2.<\/p>\n<figure class=\"wp-block-embed is-type-video is-provider-youtube wp-block-embed-youtube\">\n<div class=\"wp-block-embed__wrapper\">\n<p><iframe loading=\"lazy\" title=\"Assassin&#039;s Creed Shadows: Launch Trailer\" width=\"640\" height=\"360\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/_JzywR97gUs?feature=oembed\" frameborder=\"0\" allow=\"accelerometer; autoplay; clipboard-write; encrypted-media; gyroscope; picture-in-picture; web-share\" referrerpolicy=\"strict-origin-when-cross-origin\" allowfullscreen><\/iframe><\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/figure>\n<p>It could be some sort of mistake (the Easter holidays mean it might be a while till the site is updated) but that\u2019s rare with age rating boards, who are usually more likely to reveal something early than show inaccurate information.<\/p>\n<p>There\u2019s no guarantee until the game is announced, but after last week\u2019s <a href=\"https:\/\/metro.co.uk\/2025\/04\/17\/mario-kart-world-confirms-new-modes-features-nintendo-switch-2-22926901\/\">Mario Kart World Direct<\/a> it\u2019s unclear when Nintendo will have another showcase.<\/p>\n<p>It\u2019s very likely their traditional not-E3 one in June will go ahead, but that\u2019s traditionally later in the month \u2013 after the console launches on June 5.<\/p>\n<p>Whether there\u2019ll be anything else before that is unknown, but it seems almost certain. The PEGI website gives no indication of a release date though, so if it\u2019s going to be a while until Shadows is released it may be Ubisoft themselves that announce it, at their own not-E3 event.<\/p>\n<p>A console launch in June is very unusual, so it\u2019s very hard to guess how any of the publishers are going to handle it, let alone Nintendo.<\/p>\n<figure class=\"img-container shareable-item wp-caption\">\n<div class=\"img-wrap\">\n\t\t<img width=\"445\" height=\"382\" src=\"data:image\/gif;base64,R0lGODlhAQABAAAAACH5BAEKAAEALAAAAAABAAEAAAICTAEAOw==\" class=\"article-image wp-image-22941773 lazyload\" alt=\"PEGI website showing Assassin&#039;s Creed Shadows on Switch 2\" loading=\"lazy\" data-src=\"http:\/\/www.scubadiscounters.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/04\/SEI_248263952-fade.jpg\">\t<\/div><figcaption>A leak or a mistake?
